19 homicides in just 2 weeks in Philadelphia. Seems like she as ineffective in Philly as she was in Portland.
Philadelphia appoints a police chief from Portland. Her resume in Portland was basically being unable to do anything about the skyrocketing crime, homicides in Portland were up 2 1/2 times from 2013 to 2019.
Looks like she is failing in Philidelphia just like she failed big-time in Portland, Oregon.
Wonder if she will be as unsuccessful in Philadelphia as she was in Portland?
Wonder why the city of Philadelphia would go thousands of miles across the country and choose a police chief from a city where some types of crimes have skyrocketed?
She was appointed because for certain reasons unrelated to public safety and it doesn't matter if she does a good job or not.
Portland, OR homicide rate went up 2 1/2 times under her watch, but yet Philadelphia chooses this "police commisioner" based on her crudentials. Seems like Portland over the years has been known for riots under her watch also that gained national media attention.

Given how things have been going in Portland, I have little confidence that this lady will be able to control crime in Philadelphia. I suppose it's possible that she was restricted by her higher-ups from enacting more forceful measures in Portland, and maybe they'll give her more of a free hand in Philadelphia. But I'm not going to bet the farm on that.
You cant reqlly control an entity that has no hq, no hierarchy Anyone can go in and claim antifa... there’s no registration form or official anything...

Ever seen the Chicago Police in action?
ANTIFA gathers....you just start busting them for *whatever*. If they get a little rambunctious? Oh that's a bonus for those guys.
Someone wants to be keyboard ANTIFA...no problem. You go down to "the bean" in Chicago and start trying to throw bottles and wear masks? Oh, pass the popcorn....from a safe distance.
Not even taking sides in this one, just pointing out how some police forces, especially when they have a strong union and political protection will absolutely stomp down ANTIFA at the source of protest.

What if your face is cold and you like the color black?
I'm not as geographically close to this right now, but to be fair, I don't think she actually has even started in the position yet. These are POLTICAL appointments, and POLITICAL positions, not Law Enforcement. Her job is to give the image of the Philly PD as no longer Sexist, to combat the climate of sexual harassment that existed under the previous Commissioner, a Black MAN.
The reduction in violent crime is not the goal of this appointment. They will say it is, but it is not. The police can not anticipate crime, and the Judicial System is one of catch and release for repeat Felons, so really not the cops' fault. They are a clean up and investigative unit, not a crime prevention unit. If you want to assess the blame for violent crime, blame the criminals, and a judicial system that puts them back out on the street.
