He got impeached because he is a Republican, pure and simple, and you don't have the integrity to admit it.
Impeachment means charging a public official with misconduct. Trump has abused his power and the office of president since he was elected, and you don't have the integrity to admit it.
Nope. Got an impeached Trump is what I got. He needed to be called on his abuse of power and was. Thank you Speaker Pelosi.
Trump's the one wasting time. Instead of doing his job, he walks around tweeting about his impeachment all the time. I can waste my time, as I have no place to be.
The other part of this is the Trump* legal team is framing this that because there was no crime committed, there should be no trial, that's this is purely political. Yes, impeachment is a political action built in the Constitution but a trial in the US justice system and presumably in the Senate is the place where it's determined if there's a crime or not.
If the point is to adjudicate whether there was a crime or not, yes, hold a trial, call witnesses, have an impartial jury, let it run it course. But to simply cry that it's all political, that nothing should happen and it's all invalid is trying to have it both ways.

A trial is a huge waste of time on a total nothingburger
Immediate dismissal is better. Same reason you wouldn’t have a real trial
For any non crime

Bill Clinton - Charged with 11 Felonies & Impeachable offenses (Bipartisan)
Donald Trump - Charged with 0 Felonies & 2 non-crimes (100% Partisan)

Impeachment is a political procedure
Dems control the house. They hate Trump, they found excuse to impeach
But no crime was committed, hell Trump wasn’t actually charged with a felony. So yes, let’s dismiss this farce as quick as we can

You best hope McConnell shows some eloquence in dismissing the 'farce' because in a nation that loves it's television courtroom dramas where fancy lawyer'n allowing questionable defendants to get away scot-free makes for a dissatisfied audience, you still need to win in November.
