Al Capone got away with a lot of things for a long time, no 'gotcha' moments for him, until of course ...

Same for John Gotti. Same for Epstein. It goes like that. Ultimately, it is nothing for any miscreants (nor their sycophants) to be proud of.

I count Trump admitting on live TV that he committed a crime as one his many gotcha moment. But I reckon his cult followers would willfully remain ignorant.

Watch Trump openly admit on live TV to doing the thing he's accused of in the impeachment inquiry

No, that's not the law.

There are places in the law (especially negligence law) where a "reasonable person" standard is used, but none of that applies here.

First off I entertained your assertion even though Impeachment is not a Legal Process. It is Political. There was much discussion on the issue in the Federalist Papers, and what developed is present today.

That being stated, I never said the reasonable person standard wasn’t used in a Jury Trial. What I am saying is that the standard is not an absolute. What is reasonable to one person, may not be to another. Reasonable is an opinion. You can’t make a blanket statement of someone’s guilt or innocence based on a standard without due process. The entire process. When all efforts have been exhausted. Beyond a reasonable doubt is then adhered to regarding guilt.

If I understand you correctly you are trying to say a reasonable person finds Trump guilty based on what has
been heard. That’ s not the way our system works. Innocent unless Proven Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
A presumption of innocence. The POTUS doesn’t have to prove his innocence.

Without due process , you can’t come to a decision of guilt or innocence.
So you harangue another poster for failing to recognize that impeachment is not a legal process but a political one, but then you inexplicably apply concepts only present in criminal processes ("presumption of innocence" and "beyond a reasonable doubt") to the impeachment process? You are indeed confused.

As you said his base doesn’t care that he withheld money and broke the law only that Hillary broke it.

Where?
Yes, you do have the right to be provably and woefully incorrect. As (presumably) an American, you have the right to proudly wear your conceptional contradictions and ignorance as a badge of pride and no one can take that away from you.

Trump has taught his devotees one thing - the more outrageous the lie, the harder you push back when it is uncovered. Watch as his defenders come up with new and ever more creative pretzel logic to defend the indefensible. This is the real lasting legacy of Trump, our move away from facts and into the fantasy land of populist imagination.
