I wish serious travel ban on PRC nationals had been in place. Of course the harassments and the bullying and the air pollution weren’t enough. They also had to export deadly viruses to others.

Not to say this couldn’t be the “big one,” but it’s really too early to tell. No reason to freak out at the moment. Even if it spreads across the globe, it certainly doesn’t seem to be as deadly as the 1918 influenza virus.
The Spanish flu of 1918 was H1N1, same as swine flu. The general health of the population, sanitation, the healthcare system, nutrition are all much better now than 100 years ago. That is largely why swine flu was not a big deal and the Spanish flu was so deadly.

I am not worried about WCV. I think it is much ado about nothing. But one of these days some virus will mutate and spread like crazy. But it still will not likely extinct the human race.

As far as I know that's true for the flu and probably nearly every other condition

Which is exactly why we need to get the system set up that locks down the epidemic at it's nation of origin. Start practicing with these less deadly outbreaks.

6,057 cases and 132 deaths. It looks like this will be bigger than SARS but not as lethal.
