I found an interesting article about Andrew Jackson's impeachment. One article of impeachment accused Johnson of illegally removing Secretary of War Edward Stanton from office. He opposed the presidents policies.
There is a difference between opposing a policy and removing someone to put in place a corrupt policy to gain influence for a foreign power to illegally interfere in our election. There is more to this than a phone call with a transcript released by the accused, as the simple minded kool aid drinkers want to believe. Low information emotional fact-less rhetoric is all they have because they know in their hearts that what Trump did was not only wrong, it was illegal. It's like an abused spouse that keeps going back to her abusive husband because "I love him." We all know that a sitting president can not be indicted until after leaving office. We also know that he is an unindicted co-conspirator with his felony campaign finance violations for the cover ups that his fixer sits in prison for.

Our founders could not have anticipated what a high crime and misdemeanor could possibly have looked like in our time. There will never be a judicial review to determine that because a president charged in Congress can not take it before the supreme court. It is solely the responsibility of Congress to charge a sitting president. It is solely the responsibility of the Senate to try the case for removal.

Can you impeach a president for not committing a crime? Yes, because a sitting president can not be charged with a crime. If that weak argument succeeds, we will no longer have a Democratic Republic. No crooked, corrupt president should be in office just because "we like him." The stakes are too high for future presidents to lie, cheat and steal at our expense. No one man is worth that.
