They built a club house within the church. Church family = all do healthy things, belong to groups and stay away from the real and evil world. Then there was the fall - iPhone 4. and Internet video games. Now every kid is connected to every things outside that group. One thing Christians are getting way wrong is not associating with others. It’s not working anywhere really. Jesus said go out into the world/ mother church said come in and close the door behind you.
I think the massive conspiracy and cover-up in the Catholic church has something to do with that. Who wants to leave their kid alone with a priest these days? Who associates the church with only wholesome activities these days?
And while the catholics got the most attention - no other denomination is free of child abuse. Every day there's another story in the paper.
Who are the Christians these days? I no longer know.
The young family is combating with a crazy world and looks for alternative ways to guide their kids. unfortunately it’s just not going to work. The church becomes an impersonal machine. Gods not in that business plan. You hear sermons with out the base - Jesus. I think the kids will invent their own church style and return to basics. The old church goers lost their opportunity to keep their church alive.
Sure, that might happen.
My own impression is that churches are competing for an ever smaller pool of believers. If churches preached what Jesus preached, “good news to the poor” and did His work with the poor, it might grow into a movement.
But I am just a humble Christian who has no influence.

Bingo.
What would Jesus say about a church that accumulated vast wealthy while children go hungry?
What would Jesus say about a church that shuffled pedophile priests around instead of protecting the children?
What would Jesus say about "Christians" who are hateful and judgmental, believe some people should be denied fair treatment?
Read the parable of the Good Samaritan and ask yourself what Jesus would say about churches who don't speak out about what is going on at the U.S. border.
A lot of young people are tired of hateful hypocrisy and have given up on churches because of it.
No one "hates" anyone (other than the Nazi-Left of course). They just believe in TRADITIONAL marriage. I can guarantee this is what's going on here.
Normal, yes, normal.
No one is forcing anyone into a homosexual marriage in these churches, correct? Those self-righteous "normal" old people can still maintain their own heterosexual marriage. Why would they be bothered about other peoples' marriages?
