Should Chief Justice Roberts be allowed to call relevant witnesses for Trump’s impeachment trial?
I cannot believe the level of blinded ignorance, because of the Hate for someone so hated, they will rig anything and everything to get Orange Man Bad.
Like, it is not the Senates job to do the Houses job in this fiasco. It is not the Judges job to do the job of the House. Stay in your lane.
Some folks, in these egalitarian days of social media, don't think in terms of the functions as established by our constitution. Ignorance, really.

That is how it is set up in the constitution.
We really, really need better civics education in this country.
thats not the job of the senate or what is supposed to happen in this proceeding.
The house had more than enough time to call any witness and gather all information.
It's the job of the senate to look at the evidence and determine if the president should be removed.

Here's how to deal with the witness issue: each side submits a list of, say, 5 witnesses, and then the whole Senate has an up-or-down vote on the entire witness list.
An impeachment is not the correct place for the Bidens to be "investigated". If there is probable cause, the DoJ should open an investigation, period. If they don't, I suspect I know why.
Back to the topic at hand, no, a judge has no business calling witnesses.
There should be witnesses, but they should be called by the people running the "prosecution" and the "defense" respectively.
Better than not having any witnesses at all. Plus, an independent Republican picked judge gets to call the relevant witnesses. Not to mention that 51 votes can overturn his decisions. Sounds fair.
Bogus question. I suggest a read of the US Constitution.
Presiding Judge does not call witnesses.
