When Trump brags about how many jobs he has created, I have to laugh. First of all, sitting around in your underwear, tweeting all day long does not get actual work done. Secondly, the "jobs" that he touts are, for the most part, low paying jobs that are either temporary/seasonal, or they employ people for less than 40 hours so that no benefits need to be given.

Yeah, there are jobs out there, if you are willing to work for minimum wage and work 20 hours a week.

No research, or a clue , once again, eh J ?

They do this kind of study every few years, exact same numbers under Obummer as I recall. It's just a function of the human race......

ah....Just the research done by the Federal Reserve!

A key theme in this year’s report is exploring the
sources and effects of financial fragility across several domains, from employment to banking to managing expenses. Results from the survey show that
many adults are financially vulnerable and would
have difficulty handling an emergency expense as
small as $400. In addition, volatile income and low
savings can turn common experiences—such as waiting a few days for a bank deposit to be available—
into a problem for some. At the same time, there is
evidence of coping strategies, such as supplementing
income through gig work and seeking financial support from family members.

Wow, I was sure someone would have already chimed in about how it was about cell phones and TVs'. Things are looking up.

Show me the study to support your claim. Otherwise, I will put your comment in the, "blame the victim and bury my head" category.

And I wonder how many of those 40% do not meet the $400 because they have CC debt over $1,000 or are a single parent because they got pregnant before they could properly raise a child.

2018 is actually better than 2017.

In 2018 it was 40% that couldn't afford that $400.
In 2017 it was 41%.
In 2016 it was 44%.

So the trend is a good one. Less people face an emergency hardship.
