Better the economy gets the more rent rises. Vicious cycle if you're poor.

Same poll that has been taken every year with similar results. Are you saying now the economy under Obama sucked?

Maybe, but when my daughter became divorced with three kids, we set aside a $5,000 emergency fund for her that[we kept for her, and told her that was ALL she would get from us -- that when it was gone, there would be no more. (We told her that this was because we were close to retirement and we had to put our needs first.) In four years, she has withdrawn just $2,225 of it because she knows that we meant what we said.

I must admit that we have been very surprised by the fact that she still has that much left in her "account", as she is usually very impulsive and reckless, and has almost never shown herself to be very responsible (despite everything we tried to make her otherwise).

They know someone else will come along and bail them out (See Warren’s plan to cancel student debt).

It's better today though.

In 2016 it was 44% that had squat in the bank.
By 2018 it was down to 40%.

So this is good news. Only the media isn't telling you that.

Why do you automatically assume that someone's condition or situation is the result of someone else's (nefarious) actions?

I have been in the described situation- less than $400 actually- and it was not the result of anyone's actions but my own.

Some people want everything to be political. These types of surveys have shown the same results for as long as I can remember, regardless of who the POTUS is. Its just a convenient game to play for extreme partisans like the OP. Same goes for claiming ownership of gas prices, stock markets, and employment numbers, just political games and lies, the POTUS doesn't control those things long term.
