How so? There is no law requiring people to have all of their money in a bank. Rich people keep money at home all the time.

If you cant make it in this economy, then you cant make it in any economy, unfortunately.

Yes cold but some honest truth

But they can buy a new $1000 iPhone.... Priorities is not a sign of an economy... Typical liberals misleading people... You think that nobody has $400 then it means, nobody buying anything over $400... Yet people are still buying TV's, cars, houses, appliances, going out to restaurants, going to Disney, cable TV + internet... Blah blah blah.. liberals LIE too much.

Not so much lying as just having no clue about economics.

If you are gaming the system to get government paid for benefits by hiding money then of course it's cheating, if someone can't see that their moral compass is askew.

Agreed. This is more of a people problem, than a gov't issue.

I dated a woman that lived paycheck to paycheck. Struggle to get her to save $500 in the bank because something always comes up.

She comes into a windfall of $10K and I think "Great, this will help pay off debt and give her a safety net"

Nope....2 weeks later she had booked a cruise with some friends. Needless to say we are no longer together.

The so called $1000.00 phone is the only life line poor people have to a better life. They'er not really phones anymore. Phone companies know that you cant lead a productive life with out one so they let you buy them on time. You can apply for a job or get an email from your boss, pay your bills, get directions to an interview or receive money on these " phones." I pay my kids phone bills until they are financial self sufficient so they can stay in the loop.

One of my older relatives still uses a land line and doesn't have an email and is always upset because he is out of the loop, in money making opportunities, on every meet up and family event. Always complains no one "called " him back.
