So it is the GUN'S FAULT? They have intent, intelligence, will and can act on their own. No HUMAN involvement required. So "Gun Violence" confirms that guns are able to act on their own and commit violence. Got it. Makes sense in the mind of a Progressive I guess.
More like gang violence and the gang members aren't really aiming. They just shoot at each other because that's gang life. Whoever gets killed, they don't care.
According to the FBI who tracts crime statistics, all crime in the USA including violent crime has gone down dramatically over the past 40 years and is at an all time low. So stop spreading false, Media propaganda. Maybe you are thinking about Canada.
Violence has gone down. On the other hand, this shooting took place in Downtown Seattle. Seattle, for as large as it is, for as fast it has grown, has relatively few murders. Seattle, on average, gets about 25-30 murders annually. For a city with over 700,000 people, this is low. This happening in Downtown as oppose to Rainier Beach, or in the rougher parts of Tacoma, this would surprise and scare people.
How do you tackle gang violence in a way that won't be perceived as being racist? The blind justice approach doesn't work, because often you end up with disparate results from a racial standpoint, and that disparity is exploited by social activist types.
Gangs are already self divided along race lines. They aren't too big on diversity. You dont see many gangs with a mixture of skin tones. So the race card doesn't really apply in terms of "tackling" them.
You dont see Blacks wearing MS13 colors or Hispanic flying Crip rags. Asians dont sport swastikas and Whites dont fly Kanji. So I guess the trick is to try and tackle them all in equal proportions.
If you take down an equal number of White, Black, Hispanic and Asian gangs over a period of time it balances itself out. Since gangs are mostly formed along racial lines shouldn't be that tough to do.
Allegations of racism in LE dealing with gangs shouldn't be tough to just dismiss. It's the gangs themselves that have drawn the racial lines.

This area of Belltown has had severe crime issues for a long time.
