Mayor Jenny Durkan, Seattle's first openly lesbian mayor, spoke out strongly after the incident:
We have enacted several gun control measures in recent years, including universal background checks, restrictions on assault weapons, and a safe storage law. Obviously much, much more needs to be done.
Ah yes. The mayor wants more gun laws because obviously the current laws against shooting people and against felons possessing guns aren't working.
Maybe they can make it "doubly illegal" to shoot someone??????
WA governor Jay Inslee has tweeted out his concern over the incident:
Inslee is a complete moron and couldn't buy a clue if it was free.
This is NOT a gun problem. This is squarely on the the mayor, city prosecutors and the city clowncil that refuse to do their damn jobs. Oh and the absolutely stupid voters that keep electing trash like this bunch.
Plus they were shattering how many existing laws by even having guns ( which were o tained illegally without doubt) in their posession. And last I checked shooting people is already quite illegal with a great many laws addressing the act.
The thing is, somewhere in the back of their ignorant and/or deluded minds, the anti-2A "sensible gun restrictions" people think there is a new law out there, just waiting to be passed, that once signed into law will simply and instantly blink >400 million weapons and countless rounds of ammunition out of existence. If only they would pass that law, then guns would simply disappear, never to be found again, just *POOF* right of existence entirely.
They have to believe that, because nothing else makes any sense, given that criminals don't care about laws concerning rape, theft and murder, so why would they care about the ones concerning buying/possessing firearms?
More like gang violence and the gang members aren't really aiming. They just shoot at each other because that's gang life. Whoever gets killed, they don't care.
At least when they hold their guns sideways, they injure more often than kill. Like in Chicongo on any given weekend, 20 shootings and 4 or 5 deaths.

But big city shootings involving multiple victims have been going on for many decades. It's useless to single one out, such as Seattle. Last fall in Oklahoma City two were killed and two critically injured in a shooting.

It bears mentioning that most of the big cities where all these shootings are happening have laws the highly restrict firearms ownership and also make it prohibitively expensive to legally own a firearm.
And yet illegal firearms possession by criminals and criminal use of firearms is rampant. Legally owned firearms are not very common. And these places are looking more like Mogadishu every day.
And in the rural areas where legally owned firearms are common things are nice and quiet. Interesting...

Chicago has more people and a higher per capita number of gang members. Of course there are going to be more deaths there. And there are times alot of deaths are caused because the shooters can't aim very well. People get caught in the crossfire. The 10 year old taking the garbage out gets hit because he happen to be there when two people get into a shootout. The person who got shot in his/her house because bullets were flying and some errant bullets hit the building. At least with people who can aim, the main target is hit, and only that. Shooters who just shoot anywhere often kill more people.

Very often, the dynamic of these shootings involve violent individuals. They aren't shooting to defend themselves. They are shooting out of anger. They're shooting because they're gang members and happen to come across someone who they think is "the enemy". One example, St. Louis.
St. Louis has one of the highest per capita rates of gang members in the country. Likely explains St. Louis being the country's murder capital. One gang member described it as "In St. Louis, your enemy is right across the alley. They don't need no car. All they got to do is get the guns and the bullets and walk around the corner". Another gang member described St. Louis: "Our town is smaller, all the players know each other. You cant' (explicative) over me and I not see you. For sure, we'll see you again. We'll bump heads again. That's what makes it real dangerous". Basically, St. Louis is kind of crowded and the gang members will bump into each other alot.
In, short, the dynamic of anger, gangs, and people living on top of each other like sardines.
Tulsa has a problem with gang violence too. And this proves that political party has nothing to do with it. Gangland made aepisode about OKC.

This also applies to LE as officer involved shootings have a very high round count in a great number of cases. Picture human silhouettes outlined in bullet pocks.
I'd hazard that one weekend in Chicago sees more ammunition expended than 5 hunting seasons nationwide. Aggregate in all types of hunting.
"The Gun Problem" is identical to Iran & NK having a missile problem.
