I would rank him as my single worst politician of my lifetime. I felt a genuine hatred towards him. Sometimes I couldn't sleep because I would spend an hour or two reflecting on something he said that upset me. Trump saying McCain is not a hero is what won me over. If I need to cheer up these days I just think of the fact that he is no longer in the Senate and that brings me instant joy. Maybe if he was a Democrat his entire career I wouldn't have noticed him but I have much more angst towards RINOs than Democrats.

The Dems haven't had a prior military President since Carter.
FWIW, having served does not automatically give one a pass to be a POS for their remaining years...especially if they sold out their fellow vets...multiple times.
