Well, the list of everyone that has said so would be incredibly long.

We’ll make it easy for you. Name one Dem presidential candidate that has said that you DON’T necessarily have to believe the woman. Or we’ll just take the name of one run-of-the-mill Dem.

The way I look at that, even if he was fully guilty of the crime...all that he has done for the community and kids in general, plus, the fact that the victim in this case, was made 'whole' again, in the settlement...totally make up for it!!

It seems to me, some people today do not think a person can EVER redeem themselves, Im not sure why they think this way.

My take is that it matters (this forum) whether our POTUS grabbed women, paid porn stars, etc....but as far as a Sports or Music or other "star"? No.....

Not political.

I certainly wouldn't have left Kobe in the room with my daughters. Same with Roger Allies (Fox News Boss) and many others....Roger was "political", so it is relevant. Wouldn't leave them in the room with Bill Clinton either.

I guess you could bring a discussion of "Is is different for a White Dude with power to assault many a woman holding money or position over their heads......or the same...as a Black or other person doing the same thing?

I would say the answer is that it is the same.

Maybe we can all agree on this. There is too much domestic abuse, rape, assault, casting couch and other power plays going on in our society....or at least many people believe that.
The forum is Politics and Other Controversies. Mr. Bryant’s settlement was certainly controversial at the time. She came from a wealthy family, it was not about money. The theory was that she didn’t want to proceed with charges against him due to fear they would bring up her past sexual history and she would be the one on trial.

More to the point, as far as controversial today, had her charges been leveled today most people would argue that his death would not have garnered such accolades. Instead he would have been charged, assumed guilty and ostracized.

He admitted to raping the hotel worker, read his apology in post 3 or read the link to the story in the original post.

In your first post you claimed a huge amount of money paid to the woman helped to silence her and then in your very next post you include a statement of Kobe Bryant's that he never paid her a dime.

The case was dropped - he was not found guilty.

You want to damn him based on something inconclusive and we're unwilling to do that.

No he didn't.

Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did.

The civil case was settled after the statement. He was not found guilty but if he were tried today he’d have the same fate as Bill Cosby.
