As a gay man I can tell you that 90% of drag queens are filth, scum of the earth, broke-as-a-joke scumbags with huge drug and/or alcohol addictions. Terrible people, I know first hand.

They think they have "talent" because they mouth words to songs and make smart a** remarks, it's pretty funny.

Years and years ago I partied at gay bars a lot, and knew a lot of them.

Trans people aren't scumbag sociopaths right out of the box.

These gays dress up as women and mouth words, it's the ultimate ego trip.

They expect people to kiss their a**es. They actually think they have "fans", it's hilarious.

It's all about being big in the gay bar world.

You're either overlooking or ignoring the intent of both acts. Blackface was a majority parodying the perceived inferiority of the black minority. Blackface characters would depicted as stupid boors, using incorrect language, essentially relishing in negative stereotypes. Like most conservative attempts at humor, it kicked down.

Drag queens are depicting women as glamorous, powerful beings. The only people who are victimized are those who for whatever reason can't deal with the fact that drag acts exist.

Of course that word is degrading to self-respecting women. Just don't ask all the feminists who proudlywore p-ssy hats.
Appropriation as empowerment, it's a thing.

I'm sure there are lots of people who accepted blackface actors derogatory displays, too. Think that's OK?
No self respecting straight dude is gonna dress in drag to mock women.

Why is it so hard to let people be people? So some men might wear dresses. Back in the day, babies wore dresses regardless of genitalia just because infant mortality was high.

It was a big deal to let women ride bicycles because the seats might bust their cherries, and because it introduced them to pants, kind of a necessary thing to ride a bike. Shakespeare’s plays were all acted by men, even women’s roles, because women were barred from acting.

And for some reason, it’s a correct, upstanding position to say that dressing in a different gender’s clothes is a moral crime that we have to condemn. Eh?
