Trump is just a road block keeping democrats from getting at the ones they really hate !!! That is anyone who disagrees with them !!! Division became obvious when the democrats refused to accept the election !!! Something the democrat running against Trump said they would do !!! Turned out to be just another lie !!!

Trump didn't divide America. Trump is a symptom of Americas division, and yes Trump does fans the division, but the division in America was their before Trump. Some posts ago I gave points on what is causing the division in this country.

- The economic recession of 2008 contributed in the greatest problem in America politically and socially. Only coastal areas and urban centers recovered from the 2008 crash. While middle America, rural America and poor urban centers did not recover.

-MSM is major cause of he division in this country by pushing all sorts of false news, fake news, and virtue signaling to get people outraged.

-Social Media is another cause for division in this country. No matter what side you are on, either MAGA/Conservative, or SJW/LGBT/BlackLivesMatter/Feminists/Undocumented/illiberal. Both sides push their ideology and narratives on the web via twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Some of the rhetoric becomes problematic in which folks end up loosing their livelihood via Doxxing.

-Globalism. Folks do not like globalism on both sides of the aisle. Immigration was always the hallmark of the GOP. Jobs have went overseas and is causing economic issues for those who depend on manufacturing jobs in middle and rural America. Also amongst the left. The left wants open borders, while at the same time, they don't want different races to celebrate or represent other cultures. Example a white woman wearing a traditional Chinese dress.

- Academia. In society we have three moral institutional apparatus that control the way people think. Those apparatus are the government, the clergy, and the academy. In the past 5-10 years. The academy in America has become the moral overseers of our "Fair Republic". For Academia being white, male, being straight and being binary is evil. While on the other side being black, indigenous, being non binary, being Muslim, being LGBT, being undocumented, and being women is good. The language of academia has filtered into the labor market via human resources departments, media, journalism and even in banking. While important, academia has caused a good portion of division in this country.

- The Clergy for being anti LGBT.

- The establishment Democrats and Republicans, Wall Street, Big Tech and crony capitalism are all in bed with each other like an orgy.

Both the left and the right are responsible for the division we have in this country. I hope things can heal, and we can come back to the center. And find some sort of forgiveness, also be with your own thinking kind.

Are you ready to sacrifice to bring it back together? You'd have to compromise though.

More likely with Reagan in the 1980s. He would just laugh at the silly presentations of the Democrats, and most people would laugh along with him. And to rub salt in the wounds, the economy accelerated, the poor grew more prosperous, and so the did rich under Reagan's economic polices.

The Democrats never forgave Reagan and his party for so blatantly proving that conservatism worked and liberalism (big govt, tax-and-spend) didn't. They've been trying to "Get _______ (insert name of Republican candidate or President here)".

Usually I can find common ground with you, but on this one I have to call BS. Obama and his class warfare was not uniting. He made it us vs them. I liked a lot about Obama. Loved to hear him speak, even though I disagreed with his politics. He was a divider from day one.

Trump took pages out of the Obama playbook. First shame them to divide them, then try to shame them even more. Every time someone disagreed with Obama his followers cried racism. Race card, xenophobe card, sexist card. They were the standard answers to any opposition.

The right did their share of mud slinging as well. Mrs. Obama is an intelligent, well educated woman and not at all hard to look at. Meaning attractive. The right called names, accused her of being a transexual, and that was only the beginning.

Let's not pretend that Trump is the great divider in chief. Obama kicked butt dividing the nation.

There have always been some divisions. Trump went whole-hog divisive during the Obama administration with the "birther" hoax and he tapped into the racism that surfaced during that period. Trump has always been a disgusting and divisive person who creates conflict as part of his "winning" formula. He used that tactic to his advantage in the hostile takeover of the GOP and during the primaries and 2016 debates and election. He continues to use that approach to this day.

There are faultlines in American society and instead of trying to unite people Trump seizes on the divisions and amplifies them. The Putin/Russian strategy (besides election meddling) is to create and broaden divisions in American society in order to weaken us as a nation and Trump is either intentionally or unwittingly doing their work for them.
