I just have this mental image of Trump as a kid holding a magnifying glass and scorching and terrorizing an ants nest. The democrats and the deep state are the ants.
I prefer whistleblowers identity be kept secret, regardless of who they are and who they are blowing the whistle on. If they gave bad info then let the authorities prosecute them, not the lynch mob public.

Saying something you were told from a person who got the info 2nd hand from someone is is NOT being a whistle blower.
There is no benefit to revealing his name. He did not investigate Trump. He did not make a first-hand accusation against Trump. No one relied on his testimony during the impeachment proceedings. Literally all he did was alert the IG to a possible problem and, in doing so, hand it off to the proper authorities.
On the flip-side, publicly naming him (particularly when done in conjunction with Trump demonizing him on twitter) could result in reprisals against him and will likely have a chilling effect on future whistle-blowers.
There is no reason to name him publicly but there is a big downside to doing so, which is exactly why whistle-blower laws grant whistle-blowers anonymity. Ask Chuck Grassley - he was the champion of whistleblower laws until he checked his belief at the door of the house of Trump.
"No one relied on his testimony during the impeachment proceedings" The ENTIRE dem casewas based on what the NON-whistle blower claimed.
Or something like that. (He doesn't even deserve having his name spelled correctly).
