And the liars at CNN apparently left this part off too.
In an effort to prevent civilian casualties, a new Defense Department policy will only allow the use of landmines with a 30-day self-destruction or self-deactivation feature.
That kills their entire fake news narrative.
Why anyone still listens to CNN is beyond me.
Just hope one doesn’t self destruct when I am walking by. Lol
It's right there in your very OP. You didn't even read it, AND you quoted it.
"The President has canceled the Obama administration's policy to prohibit United States military forces from employing anti-personnel landmines outside of the Korean Peninsula,

The new Department of Defense landmine policy will permit the operational use of landmines only if they have a 30-day self-destruction or self-deactivation feature, a design feature seen as helping to prevent civilian casualties.
Chicano3000X = Squad member? None of them read beyond the headline and opening paragraph of what they post either.
They left off the part where Obama said it was OK to still use them on Koreans.
From the article.

"The President has canceled the Obama administration's policy to prohibit United States military forces from employing anti-personnel landmines outside of the Korean Peninsula," White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.
This thing against landmines started with princess Diane, which resulted in Ottawa Convention (if I'm not mistaken). I remember Finland having to remove lot of mines from the Russian border, only come up with something more deadly.
Finland developing horrific jumping land mine to deter Russian or other land invasions
"This is a remotely tripped explosive, which bounds in the air and fires steel or tungsten bullets downwards," the minister told reporters.
Finland shares a 1,340-kilometer (833-mile) border and a difficult history with Russia, and since Moscow annexed Crimea in 2014, it has stepped up military spending.
Yup, yup, if there's a war where a country is so desperate for victory, that it feels it needs to use land mines, I'm quite sure that some rule saying "Don't do that, it's not nice" will stop them in their tracks, yup yup.
The topic backfired spectacularly and here you are still trying to defend it. But I'll give you a gold star to put on your participation certificate.
Don't try to turn it on me. You said CNN left off the part where Obama said it was OK to still use them on Koreans, and I showed you it was not left out.
If the topic backfired, why are you here trying to derail the conversation away from it?
