IIRC, Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate from 2014 until 2018.

Why did Graham and the Republicans launch an investigation into this dreadful, dreadful situation before now?

What in the world has held them back?
Precisely.

I suspect you may be on to something here.

But to be fair, when has that ever stopped Republicans from endless investigations?

Benghazi!!!

The quid pro quo didn't happen until 29 March 2016.

And the GOP didn't give a crap until summer 2019.

How come? They were in charge of Congress in 2016 (and 2017, AND 2018), were they not?

But everyone knew about it. It wasn't some secret plot.

It was a commonly accepted policy to oust the existing Ukraine prosecutor.....world leaders, global corporations/groups/watch dog groups -- and the House , the Senate --- all were on board.

Not one dissent --- and they knew Biden's son worked in the Ukraine and they knew what Biden was doing.

So let's not ruin a good thing. Everyone (other than the radical leftists) could see the deranged hate smokin' out of Schiff's ears (and Nadler's.....and Pelosi's....), and it didn't leave a good impression on the moderates and independents. Combine that with the fact that Biden has been shown in his full corruption-glory, and the Dems are left with Sanders, who cannot win the general.

**DING DING DING** Winner! Americans are fed up with these politically motivated investigations. Take the win and get back to work.

Yes now McConnell can get back to the senate business of blocking legislation and confirming Federalist Society judges.

Who knows maybe Trump will get around to infrastructure and health care in year 4.
