Aren't these kinds of places designated as "gun free zones", like Chicago? I think there needs to be a new approach to dealing with this very real problem.

Texas A&M is not gun free, so obviously that did nothing to solve the problem, and nor was it the root cause as you seem to suggest.

Yes. That's the problem. Criminals don't obey "gun free zone" laws. They don't obey gun control laws or laws against murder/homicide, either.
