WoW! Easy way to earn rubles. Textbook demagoguery. Focus on one reparable shortfall of a political belief system, then use that one reparable fault to discredit the whole system. Yes, San Francisco dropped the ball here, but other similarly liberal cities have not: Austin, Chappel Hill, Durham, Boulder, Minneapolis, Boston. Yes, they have problems, too. But it's not like Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Nashville, and Charlotte lack problems.

Were I a hard-core soviet-style Socialist, I'd respond with the following: Capitalism creates huge wealth inequalities, increases long-run chance of revolution by tilting the balance of power (money-based) in favor of the elites. Therefore destroy capitalism. The same thing goes for refusing to pay workers a living wage when relying exclusively on the economic value of labor.

Lucky for you, I'm not anti-capitalist, and therefore don't subscribe to such a view. Because I can see there are different flavors of capitalism. You need to wake up and realize there's different flavors of liberalism IF you wish to convince people beyond your own little echo chamber.

BTW, were your tone and wording directed against people in the workplace, that would qualify as harassment. And possibly Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress.

Helping the homeless is not socialism. BTW, the homeless crisis started with the closing of asylums, combined with refusing to adequately fund halfway houses for the homeless. You turn out a bunch of people onto the streets with no education, skills, or wealth to fall back on, plus refuse to fund halfway houses so where they can stay to get back on their feet -- well of course there's gonna be a lot of homeless people!! If the government (all geographic levels) would simply provide for halfway houses and support for the mentally ill, then we'd not have nearly the homeless problem that we do have.

It's a big problem that was ignored for too long.

It's not just many of them, it's MOST of them are from other states. The majority are from all over USA, mostly from the other states (and no doubt some are from other countries too) that have more extreme climates than California has, where they can't so easily survive the colder winters and/or insufferably hotter summers living outdoors in tents.

Actually the entire west coast has this homeless invasion problem, not only California.

There's a remedy for that, you know, but it would be a big undertaking. Set up border security around California's state borders so it can ban more homeless Americans from other states from trying to enter California. Then let California turn into a temporary police state so it can round up all the homeless people who weren't born in California and aren't contributing to California's economy or society. Deport them. Treat them as uninvited, unwanted, mooching, foreign visitors who have outlived their time allowed to visit in California on California's dime. Kick them out and send them back to where they came from. Send them all packing and let their own home states that produced them deal with them.

Once all the homeless non-contributing non-Californians are gone and no more are getting in it will take a HUGE burden off the rightful California citizens who are supporting the state and paying taxes and have a right to be there. Then California can deal more effectively with its own born and bred homeless Californians to get them off the streets and become constructive / productive.

If the corona virus or some other plague becomes pandemic across North America then all states are going to have to set up strict border security and quarantines around every state everywhere anyway. It may as well be California that sets a precedent to be the first to start it and be more prepared.

Feces, the hallmark of liberalism, needs to be viewed for what it is... Repulsive, disgusting, and downright dangerous. Especially since it has now been determined that coronavirus is spread easily via feces. California, San Fransisco, NYC... These places are literally asking for a major pandemic, and they are willing to do their part by providing a fertile environment for such a pandemic to grow.

With coronavirus just getting started, it appears that leaders in these places are not taking their responsibility very seriously. Instead of worrying about the safety of the public, they are focused on 'peach 45, belittling Trump supporters, tranny issues, and other insanity. These folks need to get their heads out of their rear and back into reality, or more diligent and competent leadership is required to take their place, for the safety and well being of the general public.
Funding for medical research and disease outbreak infrastructure stops pandemics.

What causes a greater risk for an American pandemic?

a. Billions of dollars in budget cuts for infectious disease research and containment infrastructure.

b. California homeless peoples poop

Bad News for Cali... Coronavirus Can be Spread by Poo

Instead of advising others to wash their hands, the OP twists everything partisan nonsense. Must be tough to be a diehard Trump loyalist.

Advice: If you are traveling through airports, or visiting other public places, wash your hands, because there is a chance you'll be touching things others have touched, including those who did not wash their hands after going to the bathroom.

While CA might not be at special risk because of homelessness (rarely do you see Oriental people who are homeless), they have the largest Chinese population of any American state.
If the virus continues to spread among the mainland Chinese, it will undoubtedly infect members of the families over there with relatives over here.
So unless Trump were to put a ban on travel to and from China until the epidemic ends, CA would be most likely to get it in bigger numbers.
NY would be second, and from those two large population states with international travel, it could spread quickly.

All that said, certain cities have been having epidemics of disease only found in 3rd world countries because off all the poor hygiene.
So while I think the OP is incorrect in their reasoning as to why CA would be more likely to get it, if it spread to the general populace, it would likely spread more easily among the homeless and poor. Rest assured it will be a nightmare for us all, regardless of economic status or ancestral backgrounds.

According to a recent white paper produced by the city, about 30 per cent of the San Francisco homeless are Chinese. I assume where ever there are large populations of one ethic group, the homeless from that group are represented.

I asked on another forum, are Chinese goods contaminated with the coronavirus?
