It's hard for me to believe this battle is still continuing. I would have thought by now that people agreed that women had the right to make decisions about their own bodies. I would have thought by now that conservatives would have realized the bad results on abortion bans: More unwanted poor children, more likely to be deprived when young, more likely to be a drag on their city as adults. Keep in mind that most of the anti-abortion people tend to be Republicans, who claim to be against government legislating people's lives.

The New Front Line of the Anti-Abortion Movement.
As rural health care flounders, crisis pregnancy centers are gaining ground.

By Eliza Griswold

After Pence became governor, he signed a bill prohibiting private insurance plans from covering abortions in most cases. In 2015, he launched an investigation of Planned Parenthood’s fetal-tissue-disposal practices. (The investigation found no wrongdoing.) That year, Pence gave $3.5 million to Real Alternatives, a Pennsylvania-based anti-abortion organization that supports C.P.C.s. The funding was diverted from Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, a state-run federal program intended to clothe and feed children and to create initiatives that help prevent “non-marital childbearing.”

IMO the best way to reduce “non-marital childbearing” and un-intended pregnancies is to provide easy access to birth control.

I agree it is disheartening that this CPC business is still going on. But a converted bus in a parking lot?

Or even free birth control.

By the way, I've wondered: Do you have your own ansible, and is it cheaper than a landline?

Men arent interested in male BC. Its been developed and tested for decades.
You cant force people to undergo medical procedures or take medications especially minors.

It is disappointing that we don’t have an effective option for boys. Girls bear all of the responsibility in taking birth control and a lot of women have bad side effects from the hormonal methods. Condoms seem to be the best option for those wanting to avoid side effects but many people won’t use them. That said, I do agree that easy, affordable access to BC is so important in reducing unwanted pregnancies and abortions. I just wish we had better options.

Well, someone in the relationship should be smart enough to say no. They are available at every convenience store.

I agree. It just doesn’t happen enough (stopping because you don’t have a condom or don’t want to use one).
