US code prohibits the destruction of government records! Official copies of the State of the Union address are considered official records!. Nancy Pelosi just committed a violation of: 18 U.S.C 2071, section 2071 (a) when she ripped up President Trump’s State of the Union address.
The violation is punishable by up to three years in prison...!!!!!!

As much as I find Pelosi to be aggravating I doubt much of this is going to amount to much. It's all political theater and are part of the games all of these pinhead politicians play.

That is how little people understand law. She ripped up a copy of a speech anyone can read, download or print from the internet. The above law applies to people who destroy material they are responsible of "filing and depositing". If Pelosi had ripped up the only existing copy, then she could be held liable, but that is obviously not the case.

Seems there is a discussion about whether or not this is an official government record. Could be argued it was her copy to do with as she saw fit......

18 U.S. Code § 2071 prohibits the destruction of government records, the text of this statute notes that this only applies to documents that have been “filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States”

Trump is seen handing Nancy and Pence a copy of the speech -- technically their personal copy -- not copies recorded, deposited, filed in a court.

I will add -- this is a perfect example of how the puppets in he Repulican Senate will shame themselves to prop up Trump.

Gaetz didn't even take the time to look in the legality of it -- both left and right legal experts have dismissed Kirk's claims almost immediately.

But Gaetz -- trying to get on Trump's good side will do anything.

Political theater is not an excuse for committing a crime... An official copy that is preserved cannot be destroyed otherwise everyone would destroy documents and claim they though there was another copy... Nowhere in the statute does it say anything about copies... This IS an official document..
