I'm happy (and a bit surprised) the country is doing so well under Trump. When his supporters say things like this, they lose me completely. No human being (including Trump and Obama) deserves to be worshiped like this. Of course Trump loves it.
2 Thessalonians:
"....the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God........ 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie...."
So can you be sure that in lauding Trump you're not succumbing to this "powerful delusion" about the "man of lawlessness"?
One thing that I would say: God has a plan. There's nothing anyone can do to change that fact.
I would add that any Christian knows that we will be persecuted in end times. We will be forced to denounce our faith. We will be beheaded during the tribulation.
Trump isn't a savior, he is just a vessel. We are all just meat suits.
Think about the audience. some folk are so gullible and will believe anything. THAT is why a lot of the rhetoric is aimed directly at them. The best base one can have is one that believes anything their "Chosen one" and his or her disciples say. They even get medals. But disagree and you are out.
What is this country coming to?
