30% and growing. I have quite a few Jewish people in my extended family, and 1/2 have left the Democrat party. Many left when it was found out that the best Democrat President of our time was secretly meeting with his friends in the Anti-jewish, anti-Gay "Nation of Islam", then he approved to give the Anti-Jewish, Anti gay "Islamic Republic of Iran" Billions. It pretty much created the slide away from the Party of the Left.
Loony? Haven't you ever wondered, how did an advanced, educated culture like Germany fall for a raving nut like Hitler? He promised to make Germany great again (and objectively he succeeded), he appealed to people who felt they had been left behind economically and he blamed his country's problems on foreigners, ethnic minorities and elites. The German people not only willingly gave him power, they allowed him to eventually assume absolute power.
Don't think it couldn't happen here. Of course, Trump hasn't started a world war or engaged in genocide. But Alter points out Trump's use of Nazi propaganda methods. Recently we have seen how he believes he is above the law. He just proclaimed himself the nation's Chief Law Enforcement Officer, for God's sake. And the Republican Party will not lift a finger to check his thirst for more power.

It took time for Hitler to rise. It wasn't overnight. He amassed power by offering people the things they desperately needed. Jobs, jobs, jobs! Work for everyone. Life appeared to be good again and the people were happy. The German people wanted prosperity no different than people do here. He delivered it. He was wildly popular with the people. He held rallies. No one would speak against Hitler. If they did they were brutalized. He used fear and intimidation. There are parallels to what is happening in our country right now. This is the story of fascism.

Yes, it’s bad. The real danger lies on college campuses, where antisemitism is allowed, even encouraged, to flourish. Trump issued an XO to try to combat it, but the Democrats of course are blocking it. They are raising an entire generation to look upon Jews as second-class citizens.
