What's wrong with ZPG - zero population growth? Just think how cheap everything will be: houses, gasoline, food. Less people competing for all those things so the price will drop. Fresh water is becoming a precious as oil in many places like the middle east, South Africa, India, California. Pollution, depleted fisheries, depleted forests, extinction of species. All of that would be relieved by going to ZPG.
First thing we should do is quit subsidizing babies with tax breaks for having kids. What's that all about? Next thing we should do is cut off welfare for anyone who has a kid while on welfare.

Yep. The professor in the OP has proposed a relatively simple solution. It's essentially the Chinese one-baby solution, carried to its logical extreme. It's easy to understand. Now, is everybody in the World about to embrace this idea? No, clearly not.
So let's hear what the Conservative's suggested solutions to the issue of climate crisis are.
