Wow.... exaggerate much? I'm 61 and lived here almost all of my adult life. Thank you for warning me, I had no idea things have gotten so bad here.
Lets face facts, most people leaving CA are doing so for economic reasons, not guns, Jesus or crime. Its the same reason I've watched people flood INTO CA most of my lifetime. Good jobs and opportunities for educated workers are always here. The people leaving are generally working class people looking for a lower cost of living or retirees whose retirement is subsidized with capital gains from selling their $600,000 home.
No, the working class people are stuck. It's the middle and upper-middle class who have the education and skills to secure a better jobs in another state before they move. It's also white-collar workers in their thirties who are starting families and want to raise their children in single-family dwellings with yards and sent them to good public schools.
One looks for something, she will usually find it. One way or another.

There are 40 million people in California. You do the math about how many people you disdain in other states, that live in California, too.

Actually, folks do hate California. And the folks who hate it most are its neighbors - OR; WA; ID; MT; WY; NV; CO; KS; AZ.
Those are the most libertarian states in the country and they're sick of Californians moving in, then they vote to raise taxes and vote for more gun control laws.
"Folks" don't hate California, old, unable-to-move-into-the-21-century Conservatives do. Don't paint all Americans with your narrow little Conservative mindset.

I guess moving into the 21st Century includes embracing illegal aliens, socialism for those too lazy to work, odd social behavior such as embracing homosexuality, sex changes, etc. killing unborn babies, homelessness and being morally bankrupt. No thanks then, I'll remain behind.

Funny you should ask...I went to get a bottle of scotch the other day and the store had them off the shelves and in the back. Why, I asked the manager? Because people can just walk in and take them now and the cops won't even respond.....
