yes, basic logic 101: correlation<>causation. OP forgets that the economy was still pretty bad leading up to the 2012 election. U6 unemployment was still in the 14-15% range. The stimulus had been one of the first acts by Obama in 2009. The stimulus was a dumb move that served mostly to boost the debt.
Now 'Cash for Clunkers'--that was a smart program by President Obama. I wish we could have a repeat of that with the advent of EVs. Get people to trade in their nasty old infernal combustion cars for EVs! How about that???!!!

Like Obama, FDR prolonged the economic suffering. It took WWII to get us out of the Great Depression. It took Trump to get us out of the Economic MALAISE of Obama. It was a big reason Hillary lost.
