Russia wants to weaken the US so they can become the big dog of the west. America under Trump is pure chaos which benefits Russia's goals for hegemony. Fixing the 2016 election so Trump won is pure genius on the part of Putin. He is running circles around our stable genius. Trump is totally clueless that this is going on.
Russia doesn’t care about America’s domestic politics. They want America and NATO let them expand into eastern Europe and the Middle East, and they see Trump as the person most likely to allow that.

The media is full of sh@t. Bernie is a dream candidate for the Russians, because he has promised, and has introduced a bill to completely ban fracking. The United States is currently by far, the largest producer of oil and natural gas in the world, made possible by fracking and new drilling technology. A ban would almost immediately cut American oil production by at least 60%, and gas production by at least 70%
Here is gas production from fracked vs unfracked wells.
And oil production. All production in the Permian Basin, Bakken Formation, and all other "tight" oil is only produced by fracking.
A ban on fracking would not only make the US more dependent on coal for generating power, it would stop the large reductions in CO2 emissions we have been seeing. It would also be a dream come true for the Russians, Saudis, and Iranians.
