Last summer, was with a woman married to a scientist born in a Middle Eastern nation. However, they had lived in Salt Lake City for nearly fifty years.
She stated that she believed our country would be better if we had one man running it, "not a king, but like a king, a ruler."
But she was serious as a heart attack. She was very involved in her church and believed that following a strong leader was the way to go.
I asked her if this had ever worked out well for people.
Her husband asked her how much she'd had to drink that day.
Allowing government forces to randomly search without a warrant is sliding down that slippery slope.
Im honestly not surprised...so many people today justify the govt doing these kinds of things, because they believe its in their best interest or makes them safer.
Im not sure how we got to this point, but its pretty common for American citizens to willingly give up freedoms or liberties, for the sake of safety/ security!
"Give me safety or give me death" is the modern mantra. LOL
Irrelevant in the case of a commercial venture that serves the public. There's no reason why Greyhound has the right to prohibit immigration searches on their buses. That's like saying the police can't enter Walmart to apprehend a shoplifter or can't enter a bank to apprehend a bank robber.
The memo obtained by the AP was dated Jan. 28, addressed to all chief patrol agents and signed by then-Border Patrol Chief Carla Provost just before she retired. It confirms the legal position that Greyhound’s critics have taken: that the Constitution’s Fourth Amendment prevents agents from boarding buses and questioning passengers without a warrant or the consent of the company.
“When transportation checks occur on a bus at non-checkpoint locations, the agent must demonstrate that he or she gained access to the bus with the consent of the company’s owner or one of the company’s employees,” the memo states. An agent’s actions while on the bus “would not cause a reasonable person to believe that he or she is unable to terminate the encounter with the agent.”
Greyhound previously argued that case law, including a 1973 Supreme Court ruling, did not extend the Fourth Amendment’s protections to commercial carriers.
There are tens of thousands harvesting strawberries in a full view throughout Florida, right now. . This will be followed by tomato season and then the harvest moves north.
ICE could rent hundreds of buses to round up undocumented workers and those who economically engage them.
And yet this does not happen. Why is this?
There is no cap on H2A seasonal agriculture workers.

Without security there is no freedom.
