Maybe older posters here, or historian hobbyists, might have an informed opinion on this. It's all over the news how Trump is going after so many people who he views as not backing him - Yovanovitch, Vindman, Maguire, Rood.
It's common for presidents to value loyalty, but I don't think there's ever been anything like this. Trump makes Nixon look like a kind, forgiving person.
Trump fires people that don’t serve Trump over country...
Trump can fire whoever he wants. Most past Presidents have done a clean sweep first thing, Trump did not. But when someone working for you doesn't like you, works against you, or is trying to impeach you there isn't much left to do but fire them. I'm sure you agree! But if you don't I'd love to hear how you think the world works...

If you kicked me for 3 years the way you kicked him you have not yet seen vindictive
Oh, yeah, poor little trump the victim. Locking people in cages, slicing away all the good that Obama did achieve, not laws that were bad but were good for the country and the world; only because he is so jealous of Obama.
I think trump actually hates people. He can barely stand some of his own family. The only person trump likes is trump. Trump, to me has serious mental issues. Can't someone drag him out of the oval office?
John Adams had people who criticized him arrested. Jefferson tried to destroy Hamilton. Lincoln had quite a few political adversaries, including sitting judges, arrested. Woodrow Wilson’s wife, who many argue was the true president in the later part of his term, targeted anyone who questioned his competence to remain in office. Taft didn’t hesitate to fire anyone who even slightly disagreed with him. FDR had political enemies and members of the press targeted for tax audits. It was a barely kept secret that LBJ went after and in actuality destroyed those that went up against him. Nixon literally kept an enemies list for targeting. Look up Gerald Ford’s Halloween Massacre. And, it would be neglectful to not throw both Clinton and Obama’s names into the mix.
Trump is historically nowhere towards to top, just in past it was understood that presidents had a right to have people working for them that they could trust. Interestingly, the very first impeachment boils down to congress deciding that President Johnson didn’t have a right to determine their own staff. Harry Truman was almost impeached over firing General MacArthur. The true big difference for a Trump compared to past presidents who fired people who disagreed with them - the parameters of the press coverage.
But, but, but he dems are the "highly educated" ones and we are the UN-educated deplorables!
