This x 10

Corporations have been given preferential treatment for as long as they've existed. They now hold so much power that they write the legislation that grants them increasing privilege and leave it to their bought and paid for Pub congress to pass for them.

Public health?

Well, that only favors the public.

Definitely NOT a Pub priority.

IRC, there was a group within the security function that dealt with disease. That's gone, too.

This dismantling of government is going to have severe consequences.

But we will be rid of the 'deep state'. FWIW.

It is a lie. If you believe it, you are not just a liberal. You are a socialists or a communist, by definition, not by conservative rhetoric.

In order to believe that, you have to start off with the premise that the government owns everything, and everyone is paid by the government. Logically, if the government is “paying for your tax cut”, by NOT paying for some government program, that literally means that the government pays for everything in this country.

What kind of government is that?

In reality, in this democratic republic, your money is yours, and the government takes a portion of it to pay for government services.

The correct way to phrase it is “The government is saving you money by cutting costs”. When the cost of government services is excessive, this is a good thing, not a bad one.

And I am a big proponent of the CDC. They are doing an excellent job, not just with the coronavirus, but in general. And they are doing it more efficiently, costing the tax payers less money.

Agreed. The term “paying for tax cuts” is one of those statements that is used to promote fear more than anything else.

“How are we going to pay for Trump’s tax cuts?” makes as much sense as asking how someone is going to pay for getting laid off of work or getting a reduction in overtime. It’s called spending within your means, and why both Democrats and Republicans aren’t revolting and tossing out the government officials that are incapable of that simple task is beyond me.

This is the problem with kneejerk "small government" conservatism. Nationalism is better.

It's pathetic that by this point in February the CDC does not have functioning test kits ready to go for this virus in every single state.

Yeah, the top 10% paying 70% of the federal income taxes is totally unfair.....they should be paying a LOT more

Why aren't they paying 100% anyways?

Now, THAT would be fair! Yeah, 90% paying nothing...that would be fairest plan of all.

Only 50% paying nothing is so unfair to the next 40%.

Those evil top 10%'ers don't need that money, they won't even miss it...they didn't even build that.

Heck, let's just confiscate ALL of their stuff while we're at it, with a wealth tax.
