I'm not a communist or a socialist. I just support single payer healthcare, which a lot of capitalist countries have

Well, there must be some caveats to that story.

A Canadian can't live for 5 years in the US and drive to Canada for free healthcare.

There are all sorts of residency restriction involving time away, return visits, etc.

They got service just fine in St Catherines, Ontario; which is where the wife was originally from and her parents still lived there

Why is everything about illegal immigrants with you people? I'm talking about regular working Americans

So, you want no choice and to have the government dictate all of your healthcare decisions.

Would you be in favor of two systems where you could either select to be in a single payer system that is funded 100% by those who participate or go private and on your own without paying a cent into the single payer system?

I'd kind of like to see how much you enjoy paying for yourself, illegals and all those street people.

No, because that single payer system that was only funded 100% by those who participate would become a high risk pool and would obviously fail. It has to be all or nothing so everyone is involved
