You're hyping it - I went to the CDC page - right now their travel warning, which is only a recommendation, is only for China despite the fact that the disease has spread elsewhere.

The flu is much more dangerous than the coronavirus. In the CDC briefing on the 26th - the transcript is on the site - the speaker comes right out and says that some of the information being passed around is from the media and not from reports in peer reviewed literature - which means that the media once again is sensationalizing this and actual records do not support many of the things reported.

One dude went into an ER in Florida after having symptoms...to get tested.

So far he got a bill for $3,400 with more on the way.

That sorta tells me that the status quo won't do the job.

Or, go to the ER and chance a bill for many thousands of dollars.

That's the current plan.

As such, you are probably spreading the disease to others but you will probably wait till it gets worse and you have no other option left but to go to the hospital. By that time, you have infected who know how many more people.

In the above scenario, would it be a good idea to cover the cost of affiliated with treatment due to coronavirus if it prevents the spread of the disease?
I would think so. A pandemic is very much like a war, and it takes some serious central controls and money to properly prosecute the remedies and defend and protect the people. Much like national defense.

So far.

And if we can very quickly develop a useful vaccine it could be nipped in the bud. But the timeline and extent of the virus and vaccine are as yet unknowns.

We should all hope that the virus is no worse than Influenza.
