Anyone, whatever their income, who hasn’t paid or filed taxes is a deadbeat. But how this is done will be interesting because like all things, the devil is in the details. If the irs goes after everyone then fine. Otherwise it looks like another chance to shake down the middle class. The pivot point on it will be if they expand it from non payers/filers to audits of existing returns.
Why pivot prematurely? Clear up the problem with non-payers/filers, first. Then, move on to audits.
You're directing this at someone who has said more times than I can count that taxes are armed robbery? What do you think?

Ah, the "if you are innocent, then gross violations of your civil liberties shouldn't bug you" canard. If I have nothing to hide, the police kicking down my door shouldn't bug me. If I have nothing to hide, spending the time and expense to suffer an IRS audit shouldn't bug me. If I am not really a danger to myself or others, the 1-3 years it takes me to get my 2nd Amendment protected rights back after a red flag law declared me guilty without due process...shouldn't bug me.
Are your civil liberties really that meaningless to you? How does anyone simply accept that level of enslavement to the government?

Yep, nothing like being tasked with proving your innocence and either suffering the time/effort/cost of doing it yourself, or having them do it worse and suffering more time/effort/cost to re-prove it. Sort of like the 10 year streak I went on with Ohio, where every year between 2007 and 2016, I had to spend time/effort/money to prove that I had indeed paid my 2006 state taxes, and that contrary to the "warrant will be issued for your arrest unless you prove we are wrong about the guilt we have assigned you" letter I got each of those years, I was actually innocent.
Even when you pay your taxes, Leviathan doesn't care...if they feel like declaring that you are guilty. The tax system is damn near devoid of due process, and operates entirely under a "guilty until proven innocent" paradigm.

Disagree. They are much more likely to collect more from deadbeats who earn high salaries than they could collect from deadbeats earning minimum wage. So it makes more sense to go after the higher earners. Perhaps the threshold should be higher than $100,000, particularly in high cost of living areas.

Government is a necessary evil. We would be worse without it IMO. Therefore - it needs to be payed for. It is what it is.
I don't support people breaking the laws in place, or government breaking the laws in place.
I understand that as long as people are running these systems, there will be flaws. If we can make laws and compliance better, then we need to do it.
Just for reference, my allegiance is to God and Jesus Christ first - and involved in that is compliance to the laws that exists as long as it does not violate Scripture.
