This couldn't have backfired on Trump any worse. He slashed CDC funding and removed top officials with decades of experience in Public Health. And now we're facing a potential pandemic.
Let the Trump core around here tell it, they'll probably spin this into a "win" for Fat Donny.
and you are yet another misnamed fool who didn't read the AP article posted earlier. There were NO budget cuts at the CDC. Now the Trump administration **proposed**cuts to the CDC but Congress did not follow that and fully funded them with NO cuts. Now if you want to go after him for proposing cuts, sure that's fine, but no dollars were cut from the CDC, you are listening to talking points from political pundits instead of looking at the actual facts.

You missed the point that a multi billion dollar government agency apparently dropped the ball with their most basic function.
If they don't have the very basic supplies or plan for a quarantine, it just shows government incompetence.
I am not in favor of big government but I am also always skeptical of these types of claims. I suspect this was handled properly and the one complaining (whistle blowing) doesn't know.
A whistleblower has shown that the government should not be on charge of healthcare.
The whistleblower said a team dispatched to deal with quarantined people involving the coronavirus didn't have the basic equipment or training to deal with a standard quarantine.
Most likely, this was the CDC who has a $12 billion budget.
This type of quarantine is a basic function of the agency, but they were not prepared at all.
The government can't be trusted with our healthcare.
It doesn't take a whisleblower to realize that. Failure of the VA has been in the news for years.
The Trump administration has also spent the past several years dismantling the very government programs responsible for combatting a global health crisis.
Love the comparison. Too bad most on this forum are too young to get the reference.
I’m not old but my grandparents reference them and honestly, this Trump/Pence mess certainly looks like them. Defund CDC, get rid of the knowledgeable people-whoops, get funding and appoint Pence! He’s a very stable genius too!

When Trump lied at the press conference saying we only have 15 infected when we have confirmed 60 Americans infected why didn't Pence tell the truth?
Orange man is bad, or tries to be bad, but Pelosi and the Congress thwarted him....
Quote:
Trump's budgets have proposed cuts to public health, only to be overruled by Congress, where there's strong bipartisan support for agencies such as the CDC and NIH.
