who is ‘they’ and when did they claim this is ‘just the flu’?
The fatality rate is ‘similar to seasonal flu’
—Chad Wolf, acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, in testimony before Congress Tuesday
There have been quite a few comments made along this avenue, I'm not going to go pull them all up though.

California is still the home of an IMMENSE amount of Republicans and there are still Republican strongholds in the state.
Let’s not forget that there are 5 million registered Republicans in California. That’s equal to the populations of Mississippi and Kansas (2 Republican strongholds) put together.
Not to mention that although the Republicans in their Congressional Delegation has fallen to only 6 members, that’s still a lot more than Repub bastions like Wyoming or Idaho can send. And Republicans need all 6 of those members if they ever have dreams of holding the majority again. They can’t afford to write off California, but they pretend like they can.
They can't. Not 100%. But it's how China was diagnosing people without getting a confirmation from a test.
(The ground glass look is fluid I believe ... and doesn't just point to coronavirus, but any type of lung infection.)
In the context of the entire clinical presentation the CT is quite striking.
"Chest CT, a routine imaging tool for pneumonia diagnosis, is fast and relatively easy to perform. Recent research found that the sensitivity of CT for COVID-19 infection was 98% compared to RT-PCR sensitivity of 71%."
On Dr. McCarthy: not up to date or mad they do not have the ability to test as they see fit?
I am sure he is upset about there not being a test. My concern is reliance on a test that is not specific enough and sending infected patients home without isolating them.

The problem is that a patient can be infected and test negative. Medical judgment and CT might be better than relying on a screening test.
Trump's confusion over the numbers told me everything I needed to know. Prior to that embarrassing exchange, he actually contradicted his own CDC representative! Leave it to Trump to pretend he knows better than the experts.

Okay, now I understand your stance.
But, isn't the health care industry in the US strictly relying on the test you say is less accurate (not doubting your info)? I haven't heard of any agency here using CT as a diagnostic (it's not like I am in the loop though )
The CDC just removed the data showing how many tests we have completed, so now we have no info on a method that is less accurate.
So unless I am missing something, my poor opinion of how the US is responding just got worse.
Does the CDC or other agency advise CT scans anywhere?
