People are concerned with the gag order on Federal employees because 1) they do not trust the administration, 2) it is important for us to know if there are cases in our areas, 3)we have not been testing, 4) the WHO cannot update us if our government is not updating them.
I think it is a valid concern.

What early actions have been ignored? Trump immediately declared a health emergency and closed off travelers from China. He may have saved the lives of thousands of people? His thanks? He was declared a racist & accused of overreacting by the Democrats who immediately politicized the event.
That is not all that can be done now. And I am not specifically talking about Trump. I am talking about the republican masses, mostly. Why is there a propensity on the right to downplay threats that are not non-human, like this virus or climate change?
The right plays up threats of humans.....like terrorist, dictators, nations, etc, while downplaying other kinds of threats. The left plays down what the right plays up and visa versa.
The problem is born from the fact that people don't want to act in a way that gives the opposition some sort of advantage, even at the potential consequence of costing lives. A lot of people are looking at the COVID-19 politically....and not humanly. The right sees it as a potential threat to the economy and the parties reelection to the white house. People should be looking at this potential threat free of politics. There are democrats, I am sure, who wants this to get worse just so it can negatively impact the President.
oh for God's sake.....Fauci's own office had to send Business Insider an email telling them they made it up...and it's not true
That would carry more weight if the Administration didn't have a history of being caught in lies.

The task force has been operating since some time in January.
There are numerous people besides the ones we see at press events who have been assigned to the White House from various agencies and the military to work with the task force.
They are working 12 and 16 hour days. I happen to know someone involved. She was at the White House until 3AM one night.
The idea that the Administration has been sitting around twiddling their thumbs is just bogus.
Trump is a poor leader. He waited so long to do anything. Several months into this before he even addressed the nation on it. He'd rather talk about crowd sizes and goofball stuff than what is really important. Or go off and play golf. After watching that disappointing press conference on coronavirus and him handing it all off to Pence... it is now apparent that watching any more from him is a waste of time. He did a very bad job of it.
Democrats were pushing for the emergency money for coronavirus since early Feb. They acted. Trump dragged his heels on the money till the end of the month. That is what we can expect from this administration.
Trump shut down Chinese air traffic before they asked for money, in January...and they (Democrats) called him a racist and accused him of trying to start panic (China) for that effort.
Trump asked for emergency funds before Schumer chimed in with his expanded total...and all Trump got was criticism because it wasn't enough.
And oh yeah, about quelling panic:
