I think they should stop all cruise ships and lower international travel to only what's essential. I don't know what's essential but certainly travel for enjoyment should be off limits. How could anyone enjoy it anyway?
There's going to be a higher and higher percentage of infected people so there will be a constantly increasing chance of getting sick by traveling. Just put a stop to travel. Today I was talking to people and several said they had planned to travel but were going to stay home due to the virus. So the planes and ships would be mostly empty anyway and just losing money by not shutting down. I think the planes have to fly just to keep a slot open for them at the airports but that should stop.
How is it that we're such a rich nation, supposedly all that and a bag of chips, when other nations like South Korea, China, and Italy have been able to test at drastically greater volume than we are? And not only are we the richest, we also had the benefit of like two months of foresight into this situation. Epidemiologists and doctors are pointing out daily how we've dropped the ball on this.
Why isn't Trump's CDC appointee kicking some asses over there? Why isn't Trump? I think he realizes this is already a **** show, which is why he shoved Mike Pence into the spotlight to take the hit.
If you don't even have working capacity to test at scale, you're in the dark as to the real current scope of the problem you're trying to tackle. How can you be successful this way?

Experts have been warning us for years. The problem is we have an administration that easily falls for conspiracy theories and bogus ideas and rejects the knowledge and opinions of experts.
It's pathetic that people are politicizing this. The CDC is doing a good job.
That's your opinion, but obviously the CDC had no plans in place, to handle a nationwide fast moving infectious disease crises. They were caught off guard and it shows, as they stumble out the gate with this one.

The US is doing a wonderful job of making sure everyone knows how to protect themselves. You would have to live in a cave to not be informed. US ranks 10th in number of cases. Most of the countries in Europe has more CV cases that US, which has a much greater population.
It'll get worse - both Coronavirus cases and cases of TDS.
The ranking of the US is basically an unknown, since the US hasn't tested as much as other countries have to date. My own province of BC with a population of 5 million, has tested nearly 1000 more people than all of the US.
Trump could do a lot to repair his image of a shallow and uncaring boob by paying a visit to the nursing home facility or one of the cruise ships affected by the virus

The UK is doing exactly that-the prime minister announced it this morning. UK’s economy is proportionate-in terms of sheer dollars, they are a poorer country than the US, yet they are going to cover expenses.
Do you and other Trump supporters not get it? This virus isn't just going to infect Democrats or Independents it will make its way to Republicans too. When do you start caring? When it hits your town? One of your family members?
Once again you don't seem to understand many Trump supporters. Many of these people celebrate bad things. They wanted chaos brought upon this country and they got it.
They wish ill to many people and, in some cases, that includes themselves (the reason for the surge in deaths among the forgotten men and women...from suicide and poor health from lifestyle)....
The more you are decent...the more they will go the other way. It's sorta hopeless because they have different beliefs in many cases. Some believe that if we destroy everything a magically better world will automatically arise. Others are just showing their real colors whereas civilized society formerly didn't accept that as "normal". Now it does.
