Got it! That you were saying the opposite.

Not only that but we have a president lying about this virus, down playing the seriousness of it and comparing it to the flu. Its not the flu.

We need to prepare now, not wait for things to worsen. We see what is happening in Iran, Italy, China, South Korea.

Build extra hospital like settings to give medical care, start thinking of quarantine and how to enforce.

Those outbreak plans are always ongoing - but I’d love to see a link where it says “most hospitals are setting up
space for patients.”

If they are, they apparently aren't dying.

Lol ... both major hospitals in my county have been under the usual Visitor Flu Restrictions - as they usually are at this time of year.

They’re as concerned about coronavirus as they are about seasonal flu.

The thought of our country running out of hospital beds and some may not recieve medical care is worrisome.

And assuming that some that have it now but may die in a few days you could easily double that number again. In China they were only counting those admitted to the hospital as cases.

According to some virus experts I have read the virus will likely double every 6 days. So if its 2,000 today, 4,000 in 6 days, 8,000 in 6 more, 16,000 in 6 more 32,000 in six more so 64K in about a month from now. Do the math and you can see how it can be in the millions quite quickly.

And even if you take 488 to 566 that is doubling every six days. That is exponential growth.

The number I used came from a most respectable source. I suppose we should use numbers you pull out of your arse instead. What are you babbling about "doubling every six days"? I understand how exponential growth works. What I'm saying is that the numbers we have don't support it.

So basically, more tax cuts for the rich and gut the federal government response capabilities to pay for some of the tax cuts. The rest can be added to the debt which will be great in a recession when stimulus is needed...Or not... The free market and pandemics dont go hand in hand. At all. Neither does millions of people without health care and people going to work transmitting disease because they dont have or dare to take paid vacation time.

We need universal health care, strong labor rights like guaranteed paid vacation and a well funded federal government. And reign in the short-sighted and selfish greed of the top 0.1%. This virus does not care whether a person is rich or poor.

You can't put people on lockdown here in the states because we have a nasty habit of doing whatever the **** we wanna do regardless of how much sense the opposite makes.
