What should we do to act now? If we send everyone home with the delta in wide circulation already, they will just infect their household. And when they come out of lockdown, the delta will still be there. We aren't going to get any more people vaccinated than already have, unless they are forced.

I'm sorry Ms. Little, but this lethal injection of cyanide has become necessary. What with all these variants cropping up and this last one having a 0.23% mortality rate, it's just not worth dealing with. Best to just get your inevitable demise over with right now. This won't hurt a bit.

Say, covidophiles... I'll make you a deal. I won't post about Biden's dementia anymore if you STOP posting this nauseating covid porn incessantly. As an added bonus, I'll never mention Kommie Harris again. Deal?

6090 hospitals spread over 3.006 counties in the US.

Covid is once again surging in some regions in some states.

The good news is that vaccines still help prevent severe disease. But it looks like masking and more closings could be in the near future, especially with Fall around the corner.
And what will masks do to prevent infection? The WHO's own report in Oct 2019 said masks were ineffective in preventing infection. The CDC itsef, reported that most of the new infections were from people who were wearing masks at the time. These cheap masks they mandate we all wear, are a joke.

I read the report your link referenced, which was "not certified by peer review." The vaccines are averaging an overall 92% effectiveness against the variants. And even if the person does get infected, hospitalizations for those people is only at at 1%. This is similar to the seasonal flu.

At this point, the CDC is like a person spreading around gossip they overheard at the water fountain.

And according the the CDC's own source:

There were 14,019 symptomatic cases with Delta included in the analysis, 166 of whom were hospitalized. That's a whopping 1.1% who were hospitalized, and they didn't cite any deaths. This is a lot of panic porn.

I have allergies. I can have these symptoms weekly. Not being sarcastic at all, but these are common cold and/or allergy symptoms. I can't tell how one would even know when to get tested at this point.

If those are Covid symptoms, I'd have to say I've had Covid for at least a month or more.

At this point after all the leftists have put the country through I don’t care how contagious it is or who gets the new rona. No lockdowns, no masks no more. If the vaccine does not work stop using it. This also means they have no plan other than more lockdowns. I don’t care how scared the hand wringers are, I don’t care. No more. We let nature do what it is going to do. Of course it’s not really “nature” is it. More like a CCP created disease run wild.

"Chuckity" I know the man and his family very well that are in my anecdote. All of us in my group here know him well and believe me we are all in shock knowing that this young physically fit man will either die or be permanently crippled by Covid. Are you saying I am lying about it? Why would I do that?

No one is driving "fear" about Covid - if you or others are afraid that is YOUR problem, not ours. What people are doing is driving awareness. It's like any national crisis we have ever faced here in the USA, first we accept the reality of the situation and then we deal with it. You have to decide whether you want to be part of the solution or not.

It is indeed a free country, there is absolutely no restriction on how paranoid or uninformed you choose to be. People that choose to go down that path post here every single day, as they do on many other social media platforms. That is absolutely your right and your choice. Just as is is it for us to point out that you are deluded fools.

“To see this current rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations is becoming increasingly scary,” said Gov. Edwards. “We reported nearly 6,800 cases today in addition to the nearly 8,000 that were reported from the weekend. And today, there are close to 1,400 COVID patients hospitalized statewide -- approximately 90 percent of whom are unvaccinated. This is the largest single daily increase since March of last year. the largest single daily increase since March of last year. Elder is the director of emergency management for LCMC Health. The nonprofit health system has eight hospitals across the New Orleans area. "Across our hospitals, we are up to over 120 patients," Elder said. Elder says the answer is simple: "If you want to stay out of the hospital, get vaccinated." But the vaccination rate in Louisiana sits at 36%, which is just not enough to stop this spread.
