The state of Louisiana has just broken its 1-day record of hospitalizations. More people were admitted to the hospital with COVID in Louisiana yesterday than any other single-day since the Pandemic started.

And to think that 42% of Americans still feel that mask mandates in public are "infringing on my freedums!"
Uh huh, and as long as your message is being directed at everyone, I think people will be fine with it. Unfortunately there's a myriad of vaccinated and unvaccinated people that don't believe they need to do that.
Children under 12 hospitalized in Louisiana with Covid:
June 23 - 376
August 1 - 2,920
For anti-maskers and anti-vax people, I sincerely hope you reconsider taking your family out to a restaurant without masks on, specifically because Delta is hitting children much harder than previous Covid strains.
I would like to see that, also.
According to the following, Louisiana has 15,112 beds. For that number to be correct, almost 20% of those beds would be filled with children under 12. Somehow, I doubt that (although i could be wrong).
The link says that as of TODAY, August 3, there are a total of 2,112 patients of ANY age who are now in Louisiana hospitals who have tested positive for COVID, with 222 people on ventilators . (And note that this does not say that they were admitted because they had COVID.)

Do the kids really have covid or are they hospitalized for RSV, something that I is surging right now and is actually dangerous to kids.
Because if the purpose of wearing a mask it to avoid catching Delta why not use the best mask you can find? Plus all the chatter than Delta has 1000 times the viral load. So you use something that is 50% effective at best and you are still getting 500 times the viral load?
Because 500 times is better than 1000 times. My point is, if you're vaccinated and wear a mask, your immune system has better chance of blocking out that 500x viral load than if you were to inhale 1000x. I'll wear a mask, but there are limits I have to set. Have you worn an N95 mask? People complain they can't breathe through surgical masks, then just wait until you wear an N95 mask!
You have evidence of this? It should filter droplets but is the virus limited to droplets? The mask certainly won't filter free-floating virus particles.
I have interesting story for you. My mom came into contact with her sister-in-law last month. They ran into each other outside and talked for about 10 minutes- both were wearing masks and were in close contact. A few days later, her sister-in-law found out she tested positive for Coronavirus, but she was asymptomatic. My mom freaked out and immediately ran out to get tested and she tested negative. Had my mom not worn a mask, I really wonder if she would've caught Covid.

My husband’s workplace had a mysterious outbreak of a bad respiratory virus that was not flu right before the first lockdown. People were coming to work sick and he had a lot of close contact yet he didn’t catch it. My daughter played soccer indoors for about an hour with a girl who had covid and also didn’t catch it.

My wife's workplace just went back to their corporate office two days a week. You're required to show proof of vaccinated or must wear a mask. I initially guessed at least 80% had been vaccinated, but she corrected me a couple of days ago and said 100% of her building was confirmed to be vaccinated. They have been back 5 weeks and have consistently had 2 cases per week. They now are all required to wear masks. Go figure. There doesn't seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason to this.
