"The government will do whatever it takes to protect its borders," government spokesman Stelios Petsas told reporters.
Meanwhile here in the states we have liberal do gooder judges that are stopping Trump from forcing the so called "asylum seekers" to stay in Mexico while their cases are heard.
If it wasn't for an ocean I wonder how many of these Syrians would be streaming across our border and into the welcoming arms of the gullible Left?
Italy will not allow them. Not sure how close you are following, but after Salvini came to power (he isn;t really states head, but he is driving the train) they started stopping immigrants at the border, turning ships back at sea, and sending back those that don't belong.

The *UK* voted for Brexit. There are other countries in the UK besides England.
There are plenty of Syrians and other Arab Muslims in the US, many of whom came when we had a Republican president. Try visiting Metro Detroit. Heck, visit Nashville.
People from the Middle East, Asia, and Africa make up the overwhelming majority of people coming to the US.

Yes the UK voted for Brexit and the voters are the People that recognized a real danger to their country with the real possibility that people from the ME via Turkey could simply stroll in and upset their age old English society with a totally different faith and opposing views of pretty much everything. Brexit was voted in by the People and look what happened the elected tried to stall it and change it citing that the voters didn't really understand what they were doing.
This sounds familiar when it comes to Trump winning and the Democrats saying he cheated and the deplorable voters were stupid etc etc etc..
There is a real fear of mass immigration overwhelming an established society. This is not a fear of change that has always happened slowly especially in America but change that can happen virtually overnight.
I think that most people don't mind helping immigrants but it is when those immigrants come in and instead of joining the great melting pot they set up their own stove and start demanding all the fixings to set up shop.
I have been to Ireland, England, Spain and France with family in Ireland and the way the average citizen views mass immigration is certainly different than what is projected by their elected that often welcome them all in because no one wants to the perceived as the bad guy so they don't dare say no or close their borders.

Federal immigration policy a.k.a. human trafficking for votes.
And the authorization of such is nowhere to be within the fed govts own rulebook a.k.a. the constitution. Which Im sure matters not to your ilk.
Trump foolishly upset the balance of power between Russia, Syria and Turkey. A humanitarian disaster is happening because of it.
