So, most people here would not be able to afford the test. I'm not even talking about the care for those who got sick - only the test. So, pandemic will spread very fast - people just can't afford to have test, or, God forbid, be in a quarantine for two weeks with no pay. So they will chose to skip all of that, and virus will spread everywhere.
No universal health care system? Ok, now get the pandemic in exchange. Everything has it's price. Say thanks that death toll is only 3.5% in this particular case, so only ~10mln people will die in US this time - instead of hundred times less in presence of universal health care system.
And the funniest part is - everybody is equal to the virus. Money will not buy the free pass. Fair play this time.
Why should the taxpayers foot the bill for people who travel to China to infected areas because THEY want to make money.

Capitalism Is For Good
Alright, here we go again. Another misleading thread in a lame attempt to make people accept and embrace socialism when some folks still don't even know how bad it is, and also, how good capitalism actually is.
Capitalism got you that computer you're typing on.
Capitalism got you that residence you live in.
Capitalism got you that job you're currently employed at.
Capitalism got you that car you drive.
Capitalism got our nation's railroads built and our seaports moving commerce.
Capitalism got us big business.
Capitalism encourages innovation.
Capitalism even got this website up and running.
Do I really need to go on and on here?? Capitalism has done more good things for all Americans by allowing opportunities for production, competition, market, and success. It's certainly not an evil thing.

You make it sound like these are good things.... LOL Gladly trade it all for 40A and a mule owned outright! Indentured servitude through debt is NOT a good thing. Worship at the alter of Mammon is evil.

Great post !
There are so many America-despising university professors who teach these young, naive minds this complete BS that capitalism is "evil."
It's sad and laughable at the same time to think the professors themselves would not be where they are, without this incredible free country we live in and the amazing system of capitalism we all enjoy.
Lots of millennials and now Gen Z-ers, are being super misled by these moronic teachers.

Well these are good things. You don’t have to be in debt you know. You can live frugally and start saving. How would you own anything outright in a system that is not too particular on preserving private property rights. I do understand there are issues with unrestrained capitalism, so I prefer a hybrid system, but I don’t think throwing away the whole system for socialism is a good idea.

Priorities.Priorities.Priorities.
I have spent my entire life paying for medical at the expense of many things including necessities.
I have medical coverage and drive a junker while someone else drives a Lexus and has no medical coverage.
My Money well spent.
True capitalism will not kill this country. This corrupt kind of capitalism will along with a system which is meant to suck the livelihood of every citizen from them relegating them to being no better than serfs.

You mean, you've spent your life paying more than double than any other country for the 'insurance' portion, not to mention copays and deductibles, putting massive amounts of money into pure profit, not into technology or level of care. When we rank 37th in health outcomes, that is not only for the entire nation, but for each of us individually as well.

I am healthy, my life style precludes me from getting infected and if I do, I will shake if off like when I get the flu.
Not worried and I still don’t need free stuff. Other people are not my problem financially.
