That said listening to the presidents own words in that video in the first 1:20, he said he was going to cut entitlements, but did not specify which entitlements.
So critics will assume he meant XYZ, and supporters will think the opposite.
Frankly, one potus will need to make cuts to a variety of programs, with SS & Medicare being in the mix. However no president (D) or (R) has had the guts to take that on, because they know it would be political suicide.
So if we are going to get a president to do it, it will need to be one that gets reelected, and then doesn't worry about the political repercussions.
Of course you still have the Congress to deal with, and they will be looking out for their own political hides.
