One thing that is true is that EVENTUALLY the virus will end or be contained and at that point there will be some level of recovery. Looking like it will be a while... people thinking this is gonna be like a 2 week event... nope, this will go for a while - months at least, potentially multi-year - although i think they will likely come up with a vaccine before next year.
Thus I'm fine buying on every single record down day all the way down to wherever the bottom is, it is true that there is likely long term profits to be made.

Yes this issue is how long term is this. The single record down happened and then the market went back up. We don't know when the bottom will be reached and for how long it will stay there. If more US states enter quarantine like Washington, California and New York, even Italy have, we could be in for a recession if not a depression.
It’s like we are on a ship being thrown about in a violent storm. But the captain remains steadfast at the wheel, his golden hair battered by wind, salt and sea. The storm is a perilous one. But the passengers sleep soundly in good hands knowing the captain will steer them through to calmer waters, eventually.
I blame Trump not having a plan ready, McConnell being his wishy-washy self and Pelosi not wanting a tax cut to social security and Medicare.
You really thing eliminating payroll tax is a solution? How would we pay the retirees SS and Medicare? It seems obvious the whole idea is to buy a re-election in November, and nothing else.
