We have enough predators who are legal citizens, we don't need to import them and then protect them

"EXCLUSIVE: In an interview with Fox News this week, the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ripped into Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot for her response to the sexual assault of a 3-year-old girl, allegedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant who had been sprung from custody by the city’s sanctuary policies.

The Democratic mayor had attempted to shift the blame to ICE in the aftermath....."

"......ICE had lodged a detainer in June against Christopher Puente, who has several felony convictions and a prior removal, after he was arrested for theft. But Chicago ignored the request and released him......"

WTF?

Please read up on immigration retainers here. It's not as simple as you think.

A deficient database weighed against the safety of the most vulnerable in society. Not a terribly difficult choice. Databases can be improved or replaced. Little children and old people cannot.

Lightloafers is a joke ! She breaks federal laws and then cries that the feds don't help her crime ridden city enough. She's been complaining that Trump didn't act fast enough or do enough and today she's out at O'Hare complaining about Trump's travel ban.

I'm not saying illegal immigrant crime should be ignored. But let's focus on the forest and not truffles. This article, from Chicago, says it all.

Face facts: Immigrants commit fewer crimes than U.S.-born peers

um, who gives a **** if immigrants commit fewer crimes than US born? Your comparison is irrelevant because you cannot deport US citizens.

Also, every country in the world will deport you if you commit a crime in their country and if you aren't their citizen. But for some reason in the US it's ok for foreigners to commit a crime because "immigrants commit few crimes than US citizens"

Yes, you are not saying illegal immigrant crime should be ignored, but you are making excuses for illegal immigrant who committed crimes

Precisely. I always find the assertion to be such a stupid point and evidence of how starved they are for valid points in favor of maintaining the current system, which allows the flow of illegal aliens into our country.

Paywall, couldn't read the article.

Do they make the distinction of legal vs illegal?

This illegal guy in the OP had several felony convictions and a prior removal, by the way.

Chicago's handling of illegal immigration is sick.

Why don't their voters even see that? Are they just ignorant?
