You might be surprised at the women who cross party lines to support other women. The conversation within a woman's political group I was a member of for years many times was a discussion of voting for any competent woman regardless of party. No one would vote for anybody who was a part of voter suppression. But voting for women was the purpose of the bipartisan group.
Voting for someone just because of their plumbing or skin color is just plain silly to me, but whatever I guess.
I agree with you, however, to be fair to Nancy, she did not give a reason why, she just said Generally, given the chance, that's who's gotten her vote.
By any means, she never said that "just because someone is a woman, they automatically get my vote". That's not even possible if two women are running against one another, as was the case on Super Tuesday, when both Warren and Amy K. were still both in. I bet she voted for one of them, but we could not be sure if she did, which one she voted for, or for the reason why.
It just so happens, when I go out to dinner, I usually order water with lemon, I just do. But it does not mean I never order anything else. The above is a true statement. Generally, I get water because that's what I like with my food. On occasion, if the soda, or a beer or wine sounds like a better option, I'll do it, but generally I always order water.
I'm sure many voted for Obama just because he is black. Many people vote for candidates for reasons other than their platform.
Well, exactly. When Obama was running the first time, it was nothing but "He'll be the first black president". In 2016 it was nothing but "She'll be the first woman president".

There was way more than that with both of those candidates. That's just what you heard because that's what you chose to hear. That says more about you than anything else.

What's worse? Voting for a candidate based on their gender or based on their party?
There's a difference here you apparently do not "get".
Voting party makes more sense because each party has it's basic ideals so having a majority helps move those ideals forward even if a few members aren't the most desirable...they STILL help the party...or should.

And I am sure many voted against Obama for the same reason
