Yes, it is becoming impossible to defend any further lockdowns, as the consensus continues to grow that lockdowns are ineffective, and have done more harm than good.

Basic precautions should still be taken, protect the most vulnerable, wear masks in crowded areas, and maintain good sanitation practices. We can do all these things without the need for lockdowns, and allowing children to go back to school.

99.4%:

There is one silver lining—or perhaps bronze lining—to the COVID long-term care tragedy. The fact that nearly half of all COVID-19 deaths have occurred in long-term care facilities means that the 99.4 percent of the country that doesn’t live in those places is roughly half as likely to die of the disease than we previously thought.

The other day I heard some local leader (can't remember her name) on KDKA talking about how she was all for the lockdowns and their enforcement, but how she stopped short of canceling high school football games because "you don't mess with Friday night lights in western PA." Yeah......We're handling this about as well as I expected we would.

Yes while we're at it, maybe Governor Wolf will send more COVID-19 infected patients to nursing homes. I can't think of a better place to send COVID-19 patients.

The data shows just how ineffective masks really are.

CDC: 85% of COVID-19 patients report ‘always’ or ‘often’ wearing a mask

The CDC study, which surveyed symptomatic COVID-19 patients, has found that 70.6% of respondents reported “always” wearing a mask, while an additional 14.4% say they “often” wear a mask. That means a whopping 85% of infected COVID-19 patients reported habitual mask wearing. Only 3.9% of those infected said they “never” wear a face covering.

It's remarkable that there are still Americans who are stupid enough to STILL believe that masks are meant to protect the wearer.
