Why do the Russians even maintain the pretense of being a democracy? Is it good for business?

Someone has no clue what postponing means....and what about the other 60%? What do you think would happen? Never mind, we already know your answer....the 40% would come out on top....

Yes, the 22nd amendment was proposed and primarily approved by Republican congress critters.

That’s not the point, if you allow the executive to change the Constitution by decree, it’s effectively a dictatorship.

The Constitution permits NO exception to the date of the election. Not for any reason.

It’s why we held an election during the civil war, during which I can think we can all agree political tensions were quite a bit worse than they are now (even though it has gotten worse over the recent past compared to the 90s etc).

Trump is the first leader we’ve had since probably FDR to which a significant fraction of our citizens would offer the dictatorship.

Calm down, Trump isn't going to abolish term limits.

He would abolish term limits here if he could. It’s something we have to guard against until he leaves.
Obama would have done the same, don't kid yourself.

Hmm, since when the US, which is an oligarchy itself (proof: https://bulletin.represent.us/u-s-ol...lain-research/), got the exclusive right to define which country is a democracy and which one is not?
